Role Description
The Command Development Director serves as a senior leader responsible for the strategic direction, execution, and oversight of all development, marketing, and donor engagement initiatives across the ARC Command. This role ensures alignment between fundraising strategies and the mission of The Salvation Army while strengthening community partnerships and expanding resource development efforts.
The Director leads the Marketing and Development functions, overseeing staff, programs, and initiatives that drive financial and in-kind support. A major component of the role includes the development and execution of Gifts-In-Kind (GIK) solicitation strategies, ensuring strong donor relation ships and sustainable contributions from corporations, foundations, and community partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in fundraising, development, or Gifts-In-Kind solicitation
- Demonstrated experience in building and managing Gifts-In-Kind programs
- Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with corporate donors, foundations, and community partners
- Strong leadership and team management experience
- Experience in strategic planning, marketing, and public relations
- Knowledge of grant writing and donor engagement strategies
- Ability to speak publicly and represent the organization in community settings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed
- Understanding of, or willingness to support, the mission and values of The Salvation Army
Pay Range $120k-$130K
