What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver position at The Salvation Army A Georgia Corp?
Schedule/Hours: Monday and Wednesday evenings 2:30 p.m. – 5:15 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
This position is responsible for:
Drives a Salvation Army vehicle in order to transport passengers to and from Salvation Army activities. Drives a Salvation Army vehicle to pick-up food donations and deliver to The Salvation Army Food Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides transportation for members to and from the Corps.
- Provides transportation for children to and from on program nights/mid-week activities
- Drives carefully and observes/complies with all traffic signs and road/weather conditions to ensure the safety of passengers
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
- Ability to drive a vehicle in heavy traffic and extended trips.
- Ability to lift 25-50 lbs.
- Ability to spend the night away from home due to extended trips.
- Ability to maintain required licenses and certifications required of the position.
- Work involves driving a vehicle where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with long distance trips or heavy traffic.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. AND
- Two years’ experience operating an automotive vehicle OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid State Driver’s License
