What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director Of Development (5784) position at THE SALVATION ARMY A GEORGIA CORP?
Schedule/Hours: Monday- Friday 8:00am- 4:30pm (40 hours per week)
This position is responsible for:
Plans, develops and coordinates all phases of donor development and the solicitation of financial support for The Salvation Army programs and services for the Corps; plans, develops and coordinates public relation programs with the media, private and public sector organizations and churches; serves as liaison to the Divisional Headquarters Planned Giving Department.
Key Responsibilities:

Contacts individuals, businesses, corporations, and organizations (Civic such as Rotary, Lions, etc.) and solicits funds to support The Salvation Army programs.

Plans, develops and coordinates fund raising programs to increase revenue such as: special events, giving clubs, lapsed donor and acquisition of new donors.

Coordinates and prepares for timely submission of all grant proposals, as well as subsequent reports required by grants awarded

Plans, develops, coordinates and monitors all programs involved with receipting contributions, thank you letters, donor appreciation, and information (newsletters)
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university AND
Three year's experience working in a fund-raising position OR
any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
