Director of Corporate Giving and Events (Rathgeber Village Headquarters)

SAFE Alliance seeks a Director of Corporate Giving and Events for the Administration program in the Development Department. This position will work to establish strong relationships in the area of corporate sponsorships and work with the Development Officer to formulate strategies and around events, volunteer initiatives and drive staff engagement.


This position will partner with the Marketing and Communications team to promote events through multi-channel campaigns and media outreach to support successful events, fundraising and alignment with strategic and financial goals for the agency.

SAFE Alliance:

The SAFE Alliance exists to stop abuse for everyone by serving the survivors of child abuse, sexual assault and exploitation, and domestic violence. We are dedicated to ending violence through prevention, advocacy, and comprehensive services for individuals, families, and communities that have been affected by abuse.

In the past two years (23-24), our community outreach and education has provided over 12,000 adults and youth violence prevention training. The number of forensic exams provided at Eloise House numbered over 300. Our various housing and shelter programs provided over 700 survivors per day with safe housing and shelter. Over 120 survivors fleeing sex trafficking received services through our CARES program and over 27,000 callers/chats/texts, walk-in advocacy, crisis intervention and face-to-face emotional support has been provided through our 24/7 confidential SAFEline.

Position Details:

We are looking for one person to work on a full-time, exempt basis for an annual salary of $73,850 - $78,850 dependent upon experience. The work location will be based at Rathgeber Village Campus in the Mueller area. This position will include some travel in the community or between campuses and will allow for some remote/hybrid work. This is a hybrid position with varied hours based on the role and SAFE's operational requirements. SAFE operates on a 24/7 schedule; employees may be required to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed to meet organizational demands. Hybrid work may be available based on operational considerations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Master's degree preferred in a relevant discipline.
  • Certification in fundraising, event planning, or nonprofit management (e.g., CFRE - Certified Fund Raising Executive) is a plus.
  • A minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of progressive experience in nonprofit development, corporate giving, and special events management.
  • Demonstrated success in securing corporate sponsorships and partnerships, with a track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising goals.
  • Experience leading teams and overseeing the execution of high-profile events from inception through post-event evaluation.
  • Background working with cross-functional teams such as Marketing, Communications, and Finance.
  • Prior experience managing event budgets and negotiating contracts with venues and vendors.
  • Experience working in a trauma-informed or advocacy-centered nonprofit environment is a plus.
  • At least 5 years experience supervising/managing social service programs and staff, preference given to experience supervising program Director level employees.
  • Deep understanding of nonprofit fundraising strategies, donor cultivation, and stewardship practice especially in corporate giving and sponsorships.
  • Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and execute successful large- and small-scale fundraising events, with attention to detail, creativity, and efficiency.
    Capable of developing and implementing long-term strategies that align with organizational goals while adapting to changes in the fundraising and corporate giving landscape.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills; ability to develop and maintain relationships with donors, vendors, board members, and community partners.
  • This position requires driving. You must have a valid, State of Texas Driver's License (If in possession of an out-of-state license, obtain a State of Texas Driver's License within 90 days of beginning employment.) AND at least three (3) consecutive years of driving experience OR one (1) year of driving experience if over 27 years of age AND an acceptable driving record that covers at least the last three years of driver history.
  • Pass all required criminal history background checks (including an FBI fingerprint check if applicable), as well as a pre-employment drug screen and TB test, if applicable.

Summary: The Director of Corporate Giving & Events is responsible for leading all fundraising events and cultivating, securing, and expanding corporate partnerships and sponsorships that align with the organization's mission to end domestic and sexual violence. This role oversees the strategy, planning, and execution of all special events with a focus on increasing fundraising outcomes, deepening donor engagement, and elevating SAFE's visibility in the community. This position leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive event and corporate giving strategy, ensuring all initiatives meet fundraising goals, adhere to budget parameters, and reflect the values of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Corporate Giving & Sponsorships

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to grow corporate sponsorships and partnerships across the organization.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with current and prospective corporate donors, including managing a portfolio of top-tier partners.
  • Prepare customized sponsorship proposals, stewardship materials, and impact reports that align with donor interests.
  • Ensure fulfillment of sponsorship benefits, timely donor recognition, and high-quality stewardship.
  • Collaborate with leadership and the Board of Directors to identify and engage corporate prospects.

Event Leadership & Strategy

  • Design and lead an annual event strategy, including SAFE's gala, awareness campaigns, and community engagement events.
  • Oversee the planning and logistics for all fundraising events, ensuring alignment with strategic and financial goals.
  • Assign and supervise event managers/coordinators to ensure efficient, high-quality execution.
  • Negotiate contracts with venues, vendors, speakers, and entertainers; ensure adherence to budget and policy.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to promote events through multi-channel campaigns and media outreach.
  • Evaluate event outcomes and implement process improvements based on feedback and performance metrics.

Administrative & Team Leadership

  • Manage the event and corporate giving budget to maximize ROI and maintain financial accountability.
  • Facilitate planning meetings, set team goals, and ensure clear timelines and task assignments.
  • Provide mentorship and support to Development team members involved in corporate fundraising and event coordination.
  • Represent SAFE at community and networking events and provide event site tours to donors or prospects.

Volunteer & Staff Engagement

  • Recruit and train volunteers to support donor events, outreach campaigns, and special projects.
  • Work cross-departmentally to embed fundraising opportunities into programmatic and community engagement efforts.
  • Promote a culture of philanthropy across the organization
  • Undertaking various job-related tasks as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to support the team's objectives.

Qualifications

Skills/Competencies:

  • Skilled in managing event and departmental budgets; capable of negotiating vendor contracts and ensuring cost-effective decision-making.
  • Proficient in fundraising CRM systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and event management platforms.

Experience:

Physical Demand and Work Environment

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers.
