Position Overview
The Sales Manager will have direct responsibility for building, mentoring, and scaling a high-performing field sales team to drive company revenue. This is not a passive desk role; it is a strategic leadership position requiring a hands-on sales architect comfortable with recruiting top talent, planning territories, and establishing a culture of high performance and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Recruitment & Retention: Proactively recruit, onboard, and retain high-caliber sales representatives and field canvassers. Design and execute performance-driven retention strategies.
- Daily Leadership & Coaching: Conduct weekly team pipeline meetings, facilitate structured 1-on-1 development sessions with representatives, and participate in field ride-alongs to coach closers.
- Territory & Pipeline Management: Strategically plan and allocate sales territories, set performance quotas, and manage the full sales lifecycle from lead generation to contract execution.
- Data-Driven Reporting: Utilize RoofLink CRM to track sales metrics, analyze pipeline statistics, and generate clear weekly performance reports using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Incentive Program Management: Oversee the development of the field canvasser team, managing the transition from baseline onboarding to performance-based commission structures, including a structured 3-month quality bonus program.
- Conflict Resolution & Performance Management: Drive accountability through the implementation of performance metrics, managing both the hiring and the separation processes as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Sales Experience: Minimum of 2 years of proven success in direct sales (home improvement, roofing, or construction sales highly preferred).
- Leadership Experience: Minimum of 2 years of direct experience managing a sales team, with a track record of hiring, training, and retaining high-performing representatives.
- Technical Proficiency: High comfort level utilizing CRM platforms (specifically RoofLink or Salesforce) and producing reports within the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Operational Readiness: Strong leadership qualities, exceptional rapport-building skills, a valid driver's license, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
