Server/Kitchen Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Server/Kitchen Assistant to join our vibrant team. This position requires working on Sundays and on-call availability on Fridays and Saturdays. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a welcoming dining environment while supporting food preparation and service in a fast-paced restaurant setting. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing excellent customer service, maintaining high standards of food safety, and ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen and dining area. Responsibilities

• Serve meals to customers with professionalism, friendliness, and attention to details.
• Assist in food preparation, including portioning and plating meals according to established standards.
• Support the kitchen team by cleaning dishes, utensils, kitchen equipment, and end of day overall cleaning following restaurant protocols.
• Ensure proper handling of food items in accordance with food safety regulations and Serve Safe standards.
• Help with bussing tables and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas to promote sanitation and safety.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to workplace safety guidelines and PPE use.
• Assist with manual handling tasks such as stocking where heavy lifting of supplies using safe lifting practices is necessary.
• Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with kitchen staff.

Requirements

• Experience working in a restaurant or kitchen is a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of food production, preparation, serving techniques, and sanitation standards is not required.
• Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of food safety practices including proper handling of food products and sanitation procedures.
• Must receive Serve Safe certificate within 30 days of employment.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards customers and staff.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods, heavy lifting, bending.
