Customer Service Asst: Non-Exempt Hourly
Support the CSR staff with order entry, shipping, maintaining files, updating VMI status reports. Creating job folders, making UPS shipments, and acting as a runner for packages to and from the shipping department. Output drafts/invoices and distribute throughout the department. Maintain usage reports. Convert sales orders to jobs. General office work as needed to maintain proper workflow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Run inventory report for specified customers each morning
- Enter shipping releases for specified plants
- Maintain backlog and WIP report
- Communication through e-mail/phone with customers and/or buyers regarding releases
- Data entry to status report and other reports
- Verify and approve invoices
- Assist with the outsourcing of jobs
- Filing of documentation and/or communications.
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Excellent mathematical skills
- Accurate and quick data entry
- Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Cohesive to a team environment
- Create and edit spreadsheets
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Must be able to perform duties while maintaining confidentiality
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate to customers, to include the face-to-face exchange of thoughts, ideas, feelings, and emotions between two or more people. This includes both verbal and nonverbal elements of personal interaction
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Must have good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within the parameters of instructions given, the prescribed routines, and the standard accepted practices
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
