Home Health Aide (HHA)

The HHA/CNA provides in-home care services such as personal care, light housekeeping, and companionship. This role supports patients with daily living activities to help them remain safe and comfortable in their homes. All care is provided under the supervision of a nurse and in line with state regulations and agency standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Personal Care Assistance

• Help with bathing, grooming, dressing, oral care, and hygiene.
• Assist with walking, transfers, and mobility.
• Support use of assistive devices (wheelchair, walker, commode, etc.).

2. Basic Health Monitoring

• Take vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration).
• Monitor intake/output and perform simple urine tests (if trained).
• Report changes in condition to the nurse right away.

3. Light Housekeeping

• Tidy up patient areas, wash dishes, do laundry.
• Prepare and serve meals according to dietary needs.
• Run light errands or grocery shopping as needed.

4. Documentation

• Accurately complete and submit daily visit notes.
• Maintain required paperwork on time to ensure payroll and compliance.

5. Communication

• Keep in contact with the office for schedule or patient updates.
• Be reachable during working hours via phone or cell.

Other Duties:

• Maintain confidentiality and follow professional standards.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies appropriately.
• Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
• Keep certifications and credentials up to date.
• Maintain a neat and professional appearance.
• Perform additional tasks as needed to support the patient or agency.

Requirements:

• Current CNA or HHA certification
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Compassionate, dependable, and professional
