11 fully funded PhD positions (4 years)
in Würzburg, Munich or Regensburg (Germany).
RNA-based therapeutics have transformed modern medicine. From the rapid development of mRNA vaccines during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic to emerging RNA technologies in diagnostics and targeted therapies, RNA is becoming a central molecular for precision medicine.
Funded by the Bavarian Elite Network (ENB), the graduate programme RNAmed (www.rnamed.de) aspires to train the next generation of scientists to lead this rapidly evolving field. The programme brings together internationally recognized RNA experts from three different locations in Bavaria, Germany. They offer complementary expertise in RNA mechanisms, synthesis, modification and delivery, CRISPR-Cas systems, microRNAs and non-coding RNAs, RNA biology of infections, and RNA chemistry. RNAmed students benefit from interdisciplinary supervision, close collaboration across sites, and strong links to pharmaceutical translation.
The international RNAmed graduate programme offers structured mentoring and a comprehensive training curriculum including summer schools, specialized scientific courses, industry internships, transferable skills workshops, and opportunities to present at international conferences. We prepare for careers in academia, industry, entrepreneurship, and science policy.
We seek outstanding and highly motivated candidates of all nationalities holding a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in the life sciences, chemistry, medicine, pharmaceutical sciences, or related disciplines.
