Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to optimize table utilization
- Manage restaurant reservation systems and walk-in guest waitlists efficiently using restaurant table management software such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Answer phone calls with professionalism, providing accurate information about wait times, reservations, and restaurant policies
- Coordinate with the service team to ensure timely seating and guest flow, maintaining organizational efficiency
- Handle guest inquiries courteously, providing information about menu items, specials, and restaurant amenities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/hostess station and waiting areas in compliance with food safety standards
- Support guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and ensuring a positive first impression of the establishment
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service is highly preferred
- Strong communication skills with excellent phone etiquette and customer service abilities
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management systems and POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, waitlists, and guest counts accurately
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple tables and guest requests efficiently
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hospitality best practices
- Experience in hotel or restaurant environments is a plus but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude and professionalism
