Essential Job Duties
- Coordinate and complete biweekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payroll processing, ensuring accurate earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, commissions, and payroll adjustments.
- Review, verify, and distribute commission payments while working closely with Sales and Finance to resolve discrepancies and maintain payment accuracy.
- Oversee day-to-day payroll system activities, troubleshoot processing issues, and contribute to payroll system enhancements and workflow improvements.
- Monitor payroll tax compliance by supporting multi-state payroll processing, tax reconciliations, and required quarterly and annual filings.
- Compile and reconcile workers' compensation wage and premium reports while assisting with annual audit activities.
- Partner with Finance and external auditors by preparing documentation, reconciling retirement plan contributions, and supporting annual 401(k) audit requirements.
- Generate payroll reports, perform account reconciliations, evaluate payroll trends, and recommend opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Serve as a payroll resource for Human Resources, Finance, Benefits, and Operations by researching and resolving payroll-related questions.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, tax forms, and timekeeping with professionalism and a high level of customer service.
- Safeguard confidential employee and payroll information while maintaining accurate payroll records.
- Assist with additional payroll and human resources initiatives as business needs evolve.
- 3–5 years of payroll experience within a mid-sized or large organization.
- Demonstrated experience administering multiple payroll schedules, including commission payments.
- Knowledge of payroll tax regulations, multi-state payroll processing, wage and hour requirements, and payroll compliance.
- Background supporting workers' compensation reporting and audit preparation.
- Experience assisting with 401(k) audits and payroll reconciliations is highly desired.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Experience with Dayforce is preferred.
- Canadian payroll experience is a plus.
- Direct-hire opportunity.
- Competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $85,000, depending on experience.
- Hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite each week.
- Candidates should reside within driving distance of Blaine, MN or Boise, ID.
- Minimal travel (approximately 10% annually) for team meetings and professional development.
