Our client, an innovative life sciences organization is seeking their next Senior Director of Analytical R&D to lead analytical method development and characterization for pre-clinical and late-stage pharmaceutical candidates. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing internal and external (CRO/CDMO) analytical programs to support novel drug development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead analytical strategy, method development, validation, and transfer for drug substance and product
- Manage collaborations with CROs/CDMOs and ensure alignment with FDA/ICH regulatory standards
- Oversee analytical R&D teams to support process development, impurity characterization, and CMC documentation
- Develop experimental plans and deliver technical reports, study protocols, and regulatory filings
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry (or related field) with 10 years, or M.S./B.S. with 14 years in Analytical R&D
- Demonstrated experience in analytical method development, characterization, and regulatory compliance
- Expertise in polymer and nano/microparticle formulations preferred
- Experience authoring analytical sections of regulatory submissions and responses
Technical Proficiency:
Proficient with common analytical techniques and instrumentation, including:
- Separation techniques (HPLC, GC, TLC)
- In-vitro dissolution and general/wet chemical methods
- Physical characterization (particle size analysis via DLS, TEM/SEM, zeta potential)
- Spectroscopy (UV/Vis, FTIR)
- Thermal methods (DSC, TGA)
