Driver Overview:
Join our team as a Route Driver, where you will be the link between our company and our customers. This role involves delivering products efficiently and safely, ensuring each route is executed with precision and professionalism. As a Route Driver, you will embody our commitment to customer service, uphold safety standards, and contribute to the seamless operation of our distribution network. Your role is essential in building strong client relationships and driving our success forward.
Duties
- Operates various delivery vehicles.
- Transports products and material to and from specified destinations.
- Loads and unloads the delivery vehicle.
- Maintains radio contact with supervisor/leader/manager to receive delivery or pick up instructions.
- Logs daily stops and time with supervisor/leader/manager.
- Checks truck’s equipment and supplies to ensure road worthiness. Notifies supervisor/leader/manager of current or anticipated repairs.
- Reports customer feedback and/or areas for improved customer service.
- Collects payment for C.O.D. orders.
- Performs filling, checking, and packaging of orders for shipment.
- Provides assistance throughout the warehouse upon request from supervisor/leader/manager.
- Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions product weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted when stocking, loading or unloading products. Typically bends, stoops and/or crouches from various heights on a regular basis to stock or deliver product to a customer.
- Operates forklift: proper training and certification required. May also use material handling equipment (including pallet jack, dollies & handcart).
- Cleans truck and maintains work area to ensure compliance to safety regulations.
- Supports the quality initiatives set forth by the region.
- Assists in miscellaneous warehouse duties as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in route driving within distribution environments.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction, route coordination, and team collaboration.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices; physically fit for demanding tasks.
- Prior experience in warehouse environments or automobile transportation is a plus.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple deliveries efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
