Position Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Director of Operations to lead a rapidly growing multi-brand restaurant organization with more than 50 locations across California. This executive leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, developing field leadership teams, improving restaurant performance, and supporting continued growth across multiple restaurant concepts.
The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on leader with extensive multi-unit experience who has successfully led large restaurant portfolios. This individual will partner closely with executive leadership to improve profitability, strengthen operational consistency, develop future leaders, and ensure every restaurant delivers an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Multi-Unit Operations Leadership
- Provide strategic leadership across a portfolio of 50 restaurant locations representing multiple restaurant concepts.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Regional Directors, Area Managers, and General Managers.
- Drive operational consistency while maintaining brand-specific standards and guest experience expectations.
- Conduct regular restaurant visits to evaluate operational performance, coach leadership teams, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Financial Performance
- Maintain accountability for overall operational and financial performance across the portfolio.
- Analyze restaurant P&Ls, labor reports, food costs, sales trends, and key performance indicators.
- Develop and execute action plans to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Partner with leadership teams to achieve revenue, labor, food cost, and EBITDA objectives.
- Monitor operational metrics and ensure consistent execution of business strategies.
Leadership Development
- Recruit, coach, and develop high-performing field leaders.
- Establish succession planning initiatives and leadership development programs.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching.
- Build a strong leadership bench to support continued organizational growth.
- Promote a culture focused on employee engagement, accountability, and professional development.
Operational Excellence
- Develop, implement, and standardize operational systems, policies, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, food safety regulations, labor laws, and operational procedures.
- Improve restaurant execution through operational audits and performance reviews.
- Identify process improvements that enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Lead initiatives focused on improving consistency across all restaurant concepts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Construction, Facilities, IT, and Training departments to support company objectives.
- Assist with restaurant openings, acquisitions, remodels, and integration of newly acquired locations.
- Support strategic growth initiatives and long-term expansion plans.
- Provide operational input for new concept development and business initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of progressive restaurant operations experience.
- At least 5 years in a senior multi-unit leadership role overseeing large restaurant portfolios.
- Demonstrated success leading 50 restaurant locations across multiple markets.
- Multi-brand restaurant leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Strong background in Quick Service (QSR), Fast Casual, Franchise, or Multi-Concept Restaurant Operations.
- Proven ability to improve underperforming restaurants and drive operational excellence.
- Extensive experience managing restaurant P&Ls, labor, food cost, budgeting, forecasting, and key performance metrics.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience developing Regional Directors, Area Managers, and General Managers.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, high-growth environment.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout California and other assigned markets.
Preferred Background
Candidates with leadership experience overseeing multiple nationally recognized restaurant brands or franchise organizations are highly encouraged to apply. Experience managing diverse restaurant concepts and supporting rapid organizational growth is highly desirable.

Salary : $150,000 - $175,000
