Pay Range: $17.23 – $17.85 per hour

About the Role
The Respite Programs Assistant plays a key role in supporting TRE’s respite services for individuals with IDD and their families. This position helps ensure children, adults, and caregivers receive safe, engaging, and high-quality respite experiences in both community-based and program settings.
You will work closely with the Respite Programs Manager to coordinate services, support families, and help deliver meaningful programming across Pueblo and Colorado Springs.
This is a highly rewarding role for someone who enjoys working directly with individuals with disabilities and thrives in both structured and community-based environments.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
- Serve as a key support contact for families accessing respite services for individuals with IDD
- Provide clear, compassionate communication and follow-up to families and caregivers
- Facilitate and support respite programming in Pueblo and Colorado Springs (including weekends)
- Work directly with individuals with IDD in group and community-based settings
- Support volunteers and ensure safe, engaging, person-centered programming
- Maintain accurate documentation and program records in compliance systems
- Track participation and help improve program delivery based on family needs
- Assist in developing and expanding respite opportunities for the IDD community
- Ensure program materials, supplies, and resources are prepared and maintained
What We’re Looking For
We are especially looking for someone who brings:
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) (required or strongly preferred)
- A passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and their families
- Experience in caregiving, direct support, respite, case management, or community-based services
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and in dynamic community settings
- Comfort working weekends and traveling between Pueblo and Colorado Springs
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- A heart for service and a commitment to inclusion
Preferred:
- Experience in disability services, behavioral health, or family support programs
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
