Role Description
This is a full-time/ part-time, on-site role for an Activities Assistant at our Oakland, CA location. The Activities Assistant will organize and facilitate engaging daily recreational programs that enhance the well-being of residents. Responsibilities include planning activities that cater to physical, social, and mental stimulation, assisting residents in participating fully, and collaborating with the care team to tailor activities to individual needs. The role also involves providing light training to residents on specific activities and maintaining a positive, welcoming environment.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Experience or knowledge in Recreation and organizing engaging group or individual activities
- Understanding of and experience in Elder Care practices to meet the needs of the senior population
- Ability to train and guide residents in participating in various activities
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with older adults
- Prior experience in a similar role is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in therapeutic recreation or a related field are advantageous
