What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Maintenance Engineer position at The Reeds at Shelter Haven?
The Maintenance Engineer reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the hotel’s facilities and equipment. This role supports daily operations by performing preventive maintenance, addressing repairs, and proactively identifying maintenance needs to maintain building integrity and guest comfort. The Maintenance Engineer ensures compliance with all applicable laws, safety standards, and company procedures, coordinates external contractors when necessary, and maintains organized workspaces while upholding a professional and guest-focused approach at all times.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Comply with all laws, regulations, and building codes as they pertain to construction.
- Comply with all company safety standards and procedures as they are described by the Safety and Compliance Manager.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance as directed by the Chief Engineer.
- Perform ad hoc repairs as directed by the Chief Engineer.
- If maintenance or repairs are outside the Maintenance Engineer’s skill level, they are to work with the Chief Engineer to schedule an outside contractor as soon as possible without interfering with the guest experience.
- Periodically check the hotel’s fixtures, materials, and mechanical devices to ensure working order and to address any issues that may be discovered.
- Maintain all maintenance workshops and storage areas in a clean, tidy, and organized manner
- Maintain proper radio conduct and etiquette at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Temporary
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
