Qualifications

Experience:
- Previous experience working with children or in a teaching role is preferred
- Knowledge of social work principles and practices
- Ability to mentor and provide guidance to students
- Familiarity with Christian counseling techniques is a plus
- Experience in event planning or fundraising activities is beneficial
Responsibilities
- This role is responsible for planning and executing an organized, safe and effective children's program every Sunday morning that is in alignment with Arise Church’s vision and values
- This is a part-time hourly position with approximately 4 work hours every Sunday
- Maintain personal spiritual vitality by spending regular time with the Lord in His Word
- Pray regularly for children, teachers, team members and ministry
- Ensure kids are in a safe environment
- Know and teach the curriculum from pre-school to 2nd grade as it relate to Christian Education
- Able and willing to teach different levels of learning and behavior
- Create a loving, safe environment for children and effectively use curriculum to teach each Sunday
- Have clear communication with the Director and give feedback whenever needed
- Have good rapport with parents
- Communicate and partner with parents
- Work within a designated budget
- Communicate when necessary equipment, curriculum, and supplies are needed
- Present a report to church congregation summary and reflection of the ministry at a Annual Arise Church Retreat.
- Help plan for special holiday services (Easter, Christmas etc.) and other events (VBS, Promotion etc.)
- Attend monthly team meetings (usually 30 - 50 mins) with other teachers and team members to brainstorm, plan, and get feedback on Sunday operations, holidays, and events
- Arrive early (15-30 min before worship starts) on Sundays to ensure rooms are open, safe, clean and to prepare the classroom to teach kids
- Stay 5-10 minutes after to clean up and put away supplies
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.50 - $21.07 per hour
