Food Prep/Dishwasher

Job Summary

We are looking for a part-time prep cooks/dishwashers to assist in the preparation of meals, cleaning the kitchen, and washing dishes. This role is essential in supporting the dietary department and requires a passion for food handling and culinary arts. We are looking for someone to work every Saturday and every Sunday.

Duties

• Prepare ingredients for cooking by washing, chopping, and measuring food items
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
• Follow food safety protocols to ensure all meals are prepared in a safe and sanitary environment.
• Support cooks and dietary aides in the preparation of meals, ensuring timely service.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives and other food preparation tools.
• Help with inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying supervisors of shortages.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary environment is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while following instructions from chefs and supervisors.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Capability to handle various kitchen tasks efficiently, including menu planning and ingredient preparation.
• Willingness to learn new skills related to food handling and culinary techniques.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with food preparation.
• Applicant must have reliable transportation
• Applicant must be able to work weekends
