What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance (QA) Program Manager, Custodial Services position at The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia?
We are excited to announce an opportunity within our Facilities Management Operations team for a Quality Assurance (QA) Program Manager in the Custodial Services Department. This influential ad impactful role will oversee the Custodial QA inspection program in nearly 400 buildings across Grounds.
The QA Program Manager will be instrumental in ensuring the services provided by the Custodial Department meet the quality standards set forth by the University. The inspections performed by you and your team provide vital information on the current standing of our program and help shape the direction of the Custodial Department in the future.
Responsibilities
Key areas of responsibility of the QA Program Manager role include:
- QA Inspection Program Management
Develop and implement QA strategies to improve the overall inspection program. Create, employ, and administerinspection schedules, ensuring that inspections are performed on time and provide detailed information to the Custodial Services Management Team. Monitor all inspection results to determine future inspection schedules, including any re-inspections necessary in deficient areas.
- Continuous Process Improvement
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the inspection process, using data from the inspections to optimize the QA program. Analyze the inspections to determine the root cause of deficiencies and share insights with the Custodial Operation Team.
- Leadership & Team Development
Guide, mentor, and inspire your current team of two (2) QA inspectors throughout full life cycle of employment. Ensure all inspections align with expected APPA levels of service. Foster a positive atmosphere that encourages professional growth and skill development to create a culture of continuous development within your team.
- Data Analysis and Reporting
Use the data generated by the inspections to identify trends in buildings, space types, etc. Generate detailed reports that are easily understood by the Custodial Operations Team.
- Collaboration with Custodial Operation Teams
Present inspection data and trends to Custodial teams and leadership. Use the inspection results to provide actionable insights to help drive change to the existing Custodial program.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree.
- Experience: At least four years of experience.
- Licensure/Certifications: None
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of APPA levels of care.
- Experience: Significant experience in institutional custodial services or industrial hygiene. Two (2) or more years of formal supervisory/managerial experience.
Physical Demands
Will require frequent traveling, standing, and climbing stairs to access buildings and facilities in order to assess conditions and review facility projects. The position will require occasional light lifting, bending and stooping, in addition to the use of desktop computers in an office environment.
Salary Range
- The anticipated hiring range is starting at $62,000, commensurate with education and experience.
- Employees new to UVA are eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus.
