Clinical Research Coordinator 1, Exercise and Sports Injury

The Exercise and Sports Injury Laboratory Clinical Research Coordinator 1 will work closely with UVA Health as well as the University of Virginia's Student Health and Wellness Center, School of Medicine, the Departments of Athletics and Kinesiology medical service providers, athletic trainers, research staff, and students. The successful candidate will also work closely with UVA Student Health as well as university and high school athletic trainers and administrators. The successful candidate will assist with the administration of clinical measures of concussion for high school and collegiate students and student-athletes. The Clinical Research Coordinator 1 will assist with project organization, coordination, data collection, administration of clinical measures, document preparation, record keeping.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Work with medical service providers and research staff to implement a concussion management protocol
  • Administer clinical measures of concussion to young and adult athletes
  • Assist with project organization, coordination, and marketing via social media
  • Assist with data collection
  • Assist document preparation
  • Assist with record keeping
  • Assist with student and staff training

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

CRC 1 Non-licensed

Education: Bachelor's Degree Required or equivalent combination of experience, education and or certifications.

Experience: None. Some experience in a healthcare setting and/or knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Licensure: None.

CRC 1 Licensed

Education: Bachelor's Degree Required or equivalent combination of experience, education and or certifications. Nursing Diploma may substitute for Degree for Licensed Registered Nurse.

Experience: None.

Licensure: Licensed to Practice in Clinical Profession such as (but not limited to): Registered Nurse, Athletic Training, Pharmacology, Medical Technology, Physical Therapy or Registered Respiratory Therapy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in a health system
  • Experience with the Institutional Review Boards
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience working with young and adult patients/research participants
  • Experience working within an athletics department
  • Certified Athletic Trainer eligible for licensure in Virginia

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. This is a non-exempt-level, benefited position. Learn more about UVA benefits.

This is a restricted position, which is dependent on funding and is contingent upon funding availability.

This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and must be performed fully on-site.
