We are seeking a professional, detail-oriented, and proactive Assistant Property Manager to support the daily operations of a residential apartment community. This individual will assist in leasing, resident relations, rent collections, vendor coordination, and administrative management to ensure the property operates efficiently and maintains high occupancy and resident satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, solution-driven, and able to thrive in a fast-paced property management environment. This position will progress from part-time to full-time based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
Leasing & Resident Relations
- Assist with marketing and leasing available units
- Conduct property tours and respond to rental inquiries
- Process applications, verify documentation, and prepare lease agreements
- Maintain positive resident relationships and address concerns professionally
- Support lease renewals and retention efforts
Financial & Administrative Duties
- Assist with rent collection and monitor delinquency reports
- Prepare and maintain accurate resident files and reports
- Post notices as directed (renewals, violations, entry notices, etc.)
- Support budgeting and expense tracking
- Ensure all additional occupants are properly added to the lease files
Operations & Maintenance Coordination
- Receive and coordinate maintenance requests
- Schedule vendors and ensure work orders are completed on time
- Conduct unit inspections as needed
- Help enforce community rules and lease compliance
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of property management or leasing experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Experience with property management software (AppFolio, Yardi, Buildium, etc.) preferred
- Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with professionalism
- Must be able to commute from property to property
