Compensation: $110,000-150,000

As an Automation Systems Integrator at Abel Womack, you’ll play a critical role in shaping next-generation warehouse distribution and manufacturing environments. What You’ll Do
- Conceptualize & Design Solutions
- Develop automation concepts using conveyors, robotics, AS/RS, AGVs, AMRs, goods-to-person, and storage technologies.
- Translate client requirements into system layouts, flow diagrams, and conceptual models.
- Balance innovation with cost-effectiveness and operational feasibility.
- Execute with Technical Excellence
- Assess existing operations to identify automation opportunities.
- Support system integration across mechanical, electrical, and control disciplines.
- Collaborate on functional specifications and technical documentation.
- Partner & Collaborate
- Work closely with sales, project management, and vendor partners to deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Present solutions to clients in a clear, engaging way that connects technology to results.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on automation technologies.
- Innovate & Improve
- Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Continuously recommend enhancements that drive customer ROI.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering field
- 3 years in warehouse automation, material handling, or industrial automation engineering.
- Strong working knowledge of conveyors, robotics, AS/RS, AGVs, AMRs, and related systems.
- Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar); simulation experience a plus.
- Familiarity with PLCs, controls, and WMS/WCS integration preferred.
- Project management experience: Familiarity with managing timelines, budgets, and vendor coordination for automation projects.
- Data analysis & simulation: Ability to use simulation tools or analytics software to validate system performance.
- Safety & compliance knowledge: Understanding of OSHA standards and safety requirements for industrial environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Customer-facing experience: Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Negotiation & vendor management: Experience working with suppliers and negotiating technical specifications.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in dynamic environments with evolving technologies.
- Willingness to travel as needed to client sites.
- Certified Automation Professional (CAP) or similar industry certifications optional but highly regarded
