Job Title: Mission Support Specialist - United States Capitol Police- (USCP)

Location: Washington, DC/ United States Capitol Police- (USCP)

Contract: United States Capitol Police/ Washington, DC

Period of Performance: (1) base year and four (4) option years

Place of Performance: The primary place of performance shall be: 499 South Capitol St SW, Washington, D.C. 20003 However, contractor personnel will also be required to work at various locations around the Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, (DMV) and at times, beyond the DMV area to support the USCP.

Salary: Compensation: $19.05 - $31.22 (depending on experience/ compensation may be subject to change)

Additional:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

•Valid Driver’s License with good driving history

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

•Ability to stand and walk for long periods and to lift and carry items weighing over 50lbs

•Ability to pass a comprehensive background check & drug test

 

Work Shift: Normal duty hours are Monday through Friday, in one of three shifts between the hours of 0600AM and 1800PM. Shift will be based on Department staffing needs.

Security Clearance:

All contractual personnel shall be required to meet the security requirements as determined by the Department of Homeland Security, Office of Special Investigation & Security, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Cheltenham, MD and those of the U.S. Capitol Police. As part of Logistics Management operations, background checks will be required to enter various Government offices, buildings, and facilities on an ad hoc basis dependent on the security requirements of various government agencies.

Job Description

  • The Mission Support Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the logistics & mission support operations of the United States Capitol Police. This entry-level position is open to individuals with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment. At the entry level, the contractor personnel will assist with fundamental logistics functions under supervision. This includes supporting the coordination of transportation for equipment, supplies, and materials, ensuring that basic logistical needs are met efficiently. The contractor personnel will help manage inventory and replenish supplies as directed, maintaining accurate records and supporting logistics audits by providing necessary documentation. They will assist in preparing procurement requests, requisitions, vouchers, and other paperwork, ensuring that all documentation is complete and accurate. The contractor personnel will also track the receipt, issue, return, transfer, and disposition of equipment, maintaining security oversight of equipment and storage areas. Any theft, damage, or security incidents observed must be immediately reported to the supervisor. Additionally, the contractor personnel will assist in gathering quotes from vendors for market research and procurement support, following established policies and procedures.

 

  • Assist in coordinating the transportation of equipment, supplies, and materials to various agency locations.
  • Drive large class C vehicles in support of the USCP Mission.
  • Support inventory management activities and ensure timely replenishment of supplies.
  • Follow logistics policies and procedures under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors to facilitate the delivery of goods and services.
  • Participate in logistics audits to ensure compliance with guidelines and regulations.
  • Provide administrative support in the procurement process, such as preparing purchase orders or conducting market research.
  • Assist in forecasting demand and planning for future logistical needs.
  • Prepare basic reports on logistics activities and contribute to process improvement efforts.

 

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

•Valid Driver’s License with good driving history

•Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

•Good communication skills and ability to work effectively on a team

•Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

•Ability to stand and walk for long periods and to lift and carry items weighing over 50lbs

•Ability to pass a comprehensive background check & drug test
