Massage Therapist

Department: Spa & Wellness

Reports to: Spa Manager

Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Primary Purpose

The Massage Therapist is responsible for delivering exceptional performance in their role, embodying Ranch core values, and upholding the standards set for Forbes Five-Star Properties. This position ensures guests receive therapeutic and relaxing massage treatments. By providing personalized and high-quality bodywork, the Massage Therapist contributes directly to the property’s reputation for excellence and guest well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer a variety of massage techniques customized to individual guest needs and preferences.
• Collaborate effectively with other spa team members, front desk staff, and wellness professionals to ensure seamless guest experiences.
• Between services, prepare locker and treatment rooms according to spa Standard Operating Procedures including linen changes, sanitation, and restocking amenities.
• Complete daily opening and closing checklists; aid spa attendant in maintaining a pristine and tranquil treatment environment that adheres to strict sanitation and hygiene protocols.
• Work proactively, remain calm in a quiet luxury environment, and adapt to changing guest needs.
• Adhere to all state licensing regulations and internal company policies regarding massage therapy.
• Consistently uphold brand standards of luxury service, professionalism, and guest confidentiality.
• Accurately record guest preferences, treatment details, and any relevant observations in the spa’s booking and record-keeping system.
• Actively listen to guest concerns and adjust treatment plans accordingly to maximize therapeutic benefits and satisfaction.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Spa Manager.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed massage therapist in a luxury spa or similar high-end environment.
• Current and valid state massage therapy license.
• Proficient in various massage modalities; additional certifications (e.g., prenatal, reflexology) preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills with a strong commitment to guest service.
• Demonstrated empathy, discretion, and a professional demeanor consistent with Forbes Five-Star standards.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 25 lbs), bend, stoop, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by business needs.
• Manual dexterity and physical stamina required to perform massage techniques effectively.
  
  

Compensation

• 20% commission and automatic 18% service charge for each treatment performed, in addition to base hourly rate
• Seasonal bonus
• 4% retail sales commissions
