Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans focused on literacy, math, and overall curriculum development tailored to early childhood education standards.
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping maintain a safe, organized learning environment.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote social skills, creativity, and independence.
- Provide individualized attention to children with special needs or disabilities, including those with autism or behavioral challenges.
- Help prepare classroom materials and set up learning stations aligned with Montessori or other educational philosophies.
- Monitor children’s progress and communicate observations to teachers to support ongoing assessment and planning.
- Support daily childcare routines such as meal times, nap times, diapering or potty training for toddlers and preschoolers.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices in childhood education is highly valued.
- Experience working with children who have special needs or disabilities enhances your fit for this role.
- Familiarity with curriculum development for preschool-aged children and lesson planning techniques is a plus.
- Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating effectively with teachers, parents, and team members.
- Previous experience with behavior management strategies and working with individuals on the autism spectrum is advantageous.
