Responsibilities
The Physician Practice Assistant (PPA) is responsible for performing both front and back office patient care tasks in a primary care setting. The clinic is comprised of pediatric, family and internal medicine, and OBGYN services with an excellent team of physicians and nurse practitioners. PPAs assist providers directly with intake, discharge, clinical skills, telephonic interactions, and front end registration.
Qualifications
Must meet one (1) of the following:
- Completion of program/degree in one (1) of the following: Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse; OR
- Nursing Student having completed a semester of clinical fundamentals and a pharmacology course; OR
- Six (6) months of direct patient care experience (preferably in a physician practice setting) or six (6) months of administrative medical office experience in any one (1) of the following areas: patient access or admitting, registration, scheduling, insurance verification (preferably in a physician practice setting); OR
- Successful completion of basic training in the Military with at least (1) year customer service or clerical experience
- Current BLS certification.
