What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at The QTI Group?
The QTI Group is pleased to partner with a local nonprofit to find a Senior Accountant who will manage financial operations such as preparing financial reports, executing day-to-day accounting, and maintaining compliance with nonprofit requirements. The ideal candidate will have the confidence and experience to work independently, skills in translating financial information to non-specialists, and comfort learning new platforms. This is a part time (25 hrs/week) temporary position anticipated to last several months, with the possibility of converting to a permanent position for the right candidate.
Pay rate: $35-$40/hr
Location: Onsite in downtown Madison, free parking available.
Schedule: 25 hours / wk, performed during regular business hours.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, analyze, and present accurate and timely monthly financial reports and variance reports.
- Execute day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable and maintenance of the general ledger.
- Manage and maintain required documentation for vendors and contractors.
- Maintain compliance with all required tax reporting, ensuring continuation of tax-exempt status.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of data to payroll system.
- Provide and explain financial data for volunteer finance team.
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business.
- Preferred: CPA or similar advanced certification.
- Preferred: Nonprofit experience.
- 4 years of accounting experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working in at least one accounting platform and one payroll platform.
- Ability to write and speak effectively about financial information with non-specialists.
- Successful completion of a background check and credit check required before starting the position.
Salary : $35 - $40
