The QTI Group is proud to partner with The Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce to hire their next Public Policy Manager. Reporting to the Vice President, the Public Policy Manager will play a key role in guiding the organization’s advocacy efforts and will work across all levels of government, translating complex policy proposals into clear strategies that guide the Chamber’s agenda.
Responsibilities:
- Track and analyze legislative and regulatory activity at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Translate complex policy proposals into clear, actionable strategies that advance organizational priorities.
- Develop and execute public policy and political strategies from analysis through advocacy implementation.
- Attend and staff relevant committees, boards, commissions, and policy-related meetings.
- Meet with elected officials, business leaders, and external partners to advance advocacy efforts.
- Build subject‑matter expertise across priority issue areas such as workforce development, housing, transportation, talent attraction, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
- Create advocacy content for internal and external communications platforms.
- Organize and staff key internal committees related to public policy and political strategy.
- Manage political action tools, including endorsement processes and elections‑related activities.
- Lead advocacy programming and events that engage members on policy matters.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and leadership to align advocacy efforts with organizational strategy
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, political science, or a related field preferred
- Strong interest in public policy, politics, and advocacy work
- Experience or involvement in government, political campaigns, policy research, or related settings strongly preferred
- Ability to objectively navigate political environments and work across ideological perspectives
- Ability to synthesize complex information and communicate clearly to varied audiences
- Organized, self‑directed, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
