The QTI Group is partnering with a dynamic manufacturer in the Madison area to hire an experienced Human Resources Generalist. We are seeking a hands-on, adaptable Generalist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and doesn’t mind just about any HR ball being thrown their way – employee relations, recruiting, workers comp, leave administration and more! Reporting to an HR Manager, you will serve as a trusted advisor and resource to operations leaders and production employees while helping drive engagement, performance, and staffing success.
This is a fun opportunity for an HR professional who is nimble and doesn’t mind any HR ball being thrown their way – employee relations and investigations, high-volume recruiting and onboarding, workers comp, leave administration and more! You’ll be out and about on the production floor, building relationships, and making an impact on the employee experience.
Location: On-site – Madison, Wisconsin (not remote or hybrid)
Responsibilities
- Serve as an HR partner for employees and managers, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, and HR policies
- Respond to employee questions on any HR-related matter – payroll, benefits, career growth, and more.
- Support a wide range of employee relations activities including investigations, coaching, conflict resolution, and engagement initiatives
- Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts for hourly roles, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring
- Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation to ensure a strong employee experience
- Administer and manage leave programs including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and workers’ compensation processes
- Plan and support employee engagement activities and morale-building initiatives
- Conduct exit interviews, support offboarding processes, and maintain accurate employee records
- Collaborate with HR team members and leaders to drive continuous process improvement
- Demonstrate flexibility by stepping in to support a variety of HR needs as they arise
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
- 3 years of progressive HR experience, with strong exposure to employee relations and/or labor relations in a multi-shift manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting recruiting efforts, ideally in high-volume or manufacturing environments
- Solid knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels—from shop floor to senior leadership
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Experience with HR systems and data (e.g., Excel, HRIS platforms)
- Union environment exposure is a plus, but not required

Salary : $80,000 - $87,000
