Located in a renovated, textile mill built in the mid-1800s in downtown Lewiston, Maine, Baxter Brewing Company is one of the fastest growing breweries in the Northeast. Baxter has grown to be the third largest brewery in Maine and in the top 15 breweries in New England. This role will be working out of the Pub at Baxter, a full-service restaurant located in a gorgeous 3,6000 sq. ft. area of the mill right next to the brewery. The Pub at Baxter has 24 beers on tap and a seasonally-updated varied menu filled both with classic Pub food and gastropub fare.
Job Overview
We are looking for a Food Runner to join our team and facilitate collaboration between our kitchen and wait staff. The Food Runner assists the kitchen and service staff as needed to maintain the highest level of food quality, presentation, and timing to optimize our guest’s dining experience. This is an hourly tips based position. If you’d like to gain experience in the restaurant industry and learn how to provide an excellent dining experience, we’d love to meet you! To be considered for this role, you should be available to work various shifts, including weekends.
What you'll be doing:
- Pick up food for orders placed by the service staff and deliver meals to guests in a timely manner.
- Assist the wait staff with table setting by obtaining and placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils and napkins.
- Act as the point of contact between Front of the House and Back of the House staff
- Clean large and small trays and tray stands to be ready for service.
- Track cooking times on all orders and check finished product for proper degree of doneness, appearance, and plate presentation.
- Assist servers as needed to optimize guest’s dining experience.
- Complete all side work in the front and/or back of the house as assigned.
- Complete closing duties at the end of each shift.
- Accomplish all job duties while adhering to all safety guidelines and practices throughout the shift.
- Other duties as assigned.
