Position Summary
The facility is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Hematology/Oncology Physician to join its expanding oncology program in Dothan, Alabama.
This role includes a mix of outpatient clinic, infusion center oversight, and limited inpatient consults. The schedule is Monday–Friday with strong support from advanced practice providers, oncology nurses, and an experienced care coordination team.
The group is open to 2026 Hem/Onc Fellows as well as experienced oncologists.

Essential Position Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive outpatient hematology and oncology care
-
Diagnose and manage solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, and benign hematologic disorders

Oversee infusion therapies and collaborate with infusion nursing teams

Perform limited inpatient consultations as needed

Participate in tumor boards and multidisciplinary case conferences

Coordinate care with radiation oncology, surgery, primary care, palliative care, and other specialists

Develop individualized treatment plans and provide ongoing follow-up care

Review imaging, pathology, and labs to guide clinical decision-making

Document accurately within the electronic health record (EHR)

Engage in quality improvement, patient education, and program development initiatives
Qualifications
Education
-
M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
-
Completion of an Internal Medicine residency and Hematology/Oncology fellowship
Licensure & Certification
-
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology and Oncology
-
Eligible for or holding an active Alabama medical license
-
Current BLS/ACLS preferred
Experience
