What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Server/Bartender position at The Preston Barn?
The Preston Barn is seeking hard-working banquet servers and bartenders for our upcoming spring-fall season.
The Preston Barn is a 5 Star (check out our website- you’ll see for yourself!) event space located on the grounds of Old Drovers Inn in Dover Plains, NY. Whether it be a Weekend wedding, Corporate Event, Micro wedding, Vow Renewal, Birthday/Anniversary Party or Bridal shower- we do it all. 7 days a week!
Our ideal candidates must be courteous, professional, adaptable, problem-solving, self-motivated, and work well with the Team.
Responsibilities Include:
- Greeting guests upon arrival at the event space and directing them appropriately as per the banquet captain/mangers instruction.
- Making sure all assigned guests are comfortable and attended to for the duration of the event (this includes taking special requests and relating the request back to the MOD or Banquet Captain).
- Passing appetizers, delivering food/beverages, clearing, and maintaining the cleanliness assigned tables.
- Maintaining sanitation areas
- Event set-up as well as take down/ resetting.
- Supporting other staff members who may need help to maintain guest satisfaction.
- Bartenders will be required to handle the mixed drinks and beverages for events as assigned, Prepare, and break down the bar after events, Maintain proper and adequate stocking of all necessary items. Adheres to proper alcohol handling and safety procedures (i.e., Dating, labeling and rotation of all beverage items). Sanitizing bar at the conclusion of event.

- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, climb stairs and carry heavy objects.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Previous banquet experience (1yr.) preferred.
- High school diploma or GED
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
- Food Safety/Serve Safe Certification a plus.
- All Bartenders are required to carry up to date N.Y State T.I.P.S Certified Card/Certificate.

Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour
