Superintendent – Water/Wastewater
Salary Range: $140,000–$160,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Boise, ID
The Water Superintendent is responsible for leading field operations on complex treatment plant construction projects. This role oversees all on-site activities, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The position plays a critical role in team leadership, coordination of subcontractors, and successful project delivery across civil, structural, and mechanical scopes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all field operations related to water and wastewater treatment plant construction projects, including civil, structural, and mechanical scopes.
- Manage daily jobsite activities, including crews and subcontractors, to ensure productivity, quality, and adherence to schedule.
- Direct and sequence work involving earthwork, trenching, utilities, structural concrete, and mechanical piping and equipment.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, including short-interval plans and 3-week look-ahead schedules.
- Lead daily huddles and monitor project progress, workforce efficiency, and jobsite performance.
- Review plans, specifications, and submittals while coordinating material deliveries and subcontractor work scopes.
- Resolve field issues, RFIs, and change orders in a timely and effective manner.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality standards for formwork, concrete placement, piping, and equipment installation.
- Promote and enforce a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA and environmental standards.
- Lead safety meetings and enforce Pre-Task Planning and jobsite safety protocols.
- Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and clients to maintain alignment and drive project success.
- Travel to jobsites throughout the Pacific Northwest as required.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of superintendent experience on water/wastewater or heavy civil construction projects.
- Proven experience managing projects valued between $15M–$125M.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams, drive accountability, and deliver results.
- Experience with design-build or CM/GC delivery methods preferred.
- Strong understanding of safety standards, including OSHA 30 or higher.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, Procore, Outbuild, Primavera, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
