The Middle School Spanish Teacher vacancy is a full-time position reporting directly to the Head of Middle School. Potomac is looking to fill this vacancy starting with the 2026-27 academic year. This position is responsible for teaching Spanish to children in grades 4-6.

- Teach two grade levels of Middle School science.
- Prepare lesson plans following curriculum guidelines and requirements.
- Teach the assigned curriculum using different instructional resources.
- Conduct classes almost exclusively in the target language.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities by integrating competencies and goals into the lesson plans.
- Keep attendance records; manage student behavior in the classroom and maintain a positive educational environment for all students.
- Correct assignments, administer tests, observe and evaluate students’ progress.
- Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and other teacher training workshops.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Fluency in Spanish required.
- A minimum of two years’ teaching experience at the Upper Elementary/Middle School level.
- Skilled in writing and preparing lesson plans.
- Ability to communicate, motivate and understand the students’ educational and emotional needs.
- Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with other teachers, support staff, parents and members of the community.
- Ability to recognize and respond to individual and cultural differences in students and utilize different teaching methods that will result in higher student achievement.
