Position Overview:
The Medical Assistant assumes a pivotal role in providing patients with an exceptional healthcare experience while offering vital support to physicians, nurses, and other medical staff. This position encompasses a combination of administrative and clinical responsibilities, all carried out under the guidance of a physician. Administrative duties include tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records, while clinical responsibilities involve preparing treatment rooms, recording patient medical histories electronically, and ensuring the cleanliness and sterilization of medical equipment.

Responsibilities:
Patient interaction:
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, taking vital signs, taking measurements of breast and body when needed, taking detailed photographs of patients pre and post operatively, and recording all pertinent information electronically in the patient's chart. Exercise discretion to ensure patients' privacy and dignity, instilling trust and confidence in your professional and discreet handling of sensitive personal information and situations.
  • Prioritize world-class service during patient interactions, whether it's a follow-up or a new patient consultation. Actively listen to understand patients' needs and concerns, demonstrating empathy and patience when necessary.
Room Management:
  • Prepare clinic rooms by ensuring they are well-equipped and welcoming for patient exams. This includes turning on lights, organizing rooms, and confirming the availability of necessary supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards by thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting rooms following patient examinations. Properly dispose of contaminated supplies and ensure rooms are adequately stocked with medical necessities.
  • Clean rooms meticulously between each patient visit, utilizing disinfecting wipes and ensuring proper organization and storage of equipment and supplies.
Communication & Responsiveness:
  • Devote yourself to responsiveness by promptly addressing all messages on Symplast and Weave. Maintain a strong commitment to following through on prior commitments and caring for patients in your charge.
  • Communicate effectively with the clinic lead or management, offering insights and raising concerns about patients or any other relevant matters. Practice direct, assertive, and honest communication in a professional manner.
Medical Assistant Duties:
  • Undertake various medical assistant duties, including sending pathology specimens, instrument cleaning, note-writing for patients, prescription management under physician guidance, preparing injections (e.g., scar injections, numbing agents) for the provider, and uploading photos. Demonstrate unwavering commitment to follow-through.
In Office Procedures:
  • Assist with in-office procedures as required, ensuring treatment rooms are well-prepared and adequately supplied for the procedure. Maintaining proper sterile processes and knowledge of sterile field.
Initiative & Accountability
  • Demonstrate proactive behavior in the absence of specific guidance. Identify tasks that require attention and take the initiative to complete them. Maximize your productivity during idle periods and accept responsibility and accountability for any mistakes.
Other Duties
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office environment as a medical assistant.
  • Comfortable using electronic medical records to document patient details.
  • Must type 50 WPM and be comfortable with medical terminology.
  • Maintain a non-judgmental outlook and demonstrate the ability to work with a diverse clientele.
  • Willingness to adhere to all policies and procedures, with an understanding of the importance of maintaining medical compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Capacity to multitask and handle multiple patients simultaneously when in the clinic.
