We are seeking a Vice President of Sales Development to architect and scale the future revenue engine of our staffing sales organization. This role is both strategic and operational, responsible for setting the long-term development roadmap for our sales organization while directly leading and elevating the national BDR team.
This is a transformational VP-level opportunity to shape sales culture, strengthen sales performance, and leave a lasting mark on the organization. The VP of Sales Development will partner closely with senior divisional leaders across a growing national sales organization, ensuring alignment between early-stage sales performance and broader revenue objectives.
The ideal candidate is a proven staffing sales leader who has excelled as a top-performing individual contributor and successfully led high-performing sales teams. They bring both strategic vision and hands-on execution, along with the executive presence to influence senior leadership and shape the future of the sales organization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Executive Impact
- Architect and execute the vision for sales development across the staffing organization
- Partner with senior sales leadership to align development programs with broader revenue growth goals
- Influence sales culture, accountability, and advancement standards at the national level
- Ensure the function scales effectively while driving measurable impact on revenue and talent development
BDR Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead and mentor a growing team of national BDRs, shaping early-stage revenue performance
- Promote a culture of high performance, internal mobility, and long-term career growth
- Identify skill gaps and deploy targeted development plans to strengthen individual and team success
- Increase internal promotion rates and accelerate new hire ramp time
Sales Enablement & Performance Optimization
- Implement consistent onboarding and coaching frameworks to ensure early-stage productivity
- Reinforce effective sales methodology, messaging, and execution standards
- Collaborate with recruiting to attract and retain top-tier staffing sales talent
- Build a repeatable campus-to-career pathway and sustainable pipeline for promotable sales talent
Cross-Functional & Talent Pipeline Leadership
- Collaborate with divisional leaders to align development programs with revenue objectives
- Partner with senior leadership to drive organizational change, influence sales culture, and support talent initiatives across divisions
- Represent The Planet Group at university recruiting events to attract high-potential sales talent
Talent Retention & Organizational Sustainability
- Strengthen engagement and retention within the early-stage sales organization
- Build structured career pathing that drives long-term advancement and internal mobility
- Establish clear performance benchmarks that create transparency and accountability
- Ensure continuity and bench strength across the national sales development function
Qualifications
- Direct sales experience within the staffing industry (required)
- Proven success as a high-performing individual contributor in staffing sales
- Experience leading and developing sales professionals (e.g., Branch Manager, Sales Manager, Division Lead, National Sales Leader)
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and shape sales culture
- Strategic mindset with operational execution skills — comfortable driving outcomes while enabling team growth
- Data-informed approach to coaching, talent development, and performance optimization.

- Base Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 plus annual bonus
