About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead civil design efforts on complex engineering projects across multiple industries, including data centers, power, process facilities, healthcare, industrial, manufacturing, government, military, pipeline, airport, and institutional projects.
This position will provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptual design through construction support, while mentoring engineering teams and ensuring project quality, budget, and schedule objectives are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil engineering design activities from conceptual planning through final design and construction support.
- Direct and coordinate civil project teams on large, multidisciplinary projects.
- Review civil vendor drawings and coordinate with clients, suppliers, designers, and other engineering disciplines.
- Participate in project scope development, scheduling, budgeting, staffing, and construction planning.
- Manage and administer project change orders.
- Prepare technical studies, engineering reports, calculations, and specifications.
- Develop innovative solutions for complex civil engineering challenges.
- Perform QA/QC reviews of engineering documents, drawings, calculations, and specifications.
- Support construction administration activities, field inspections, testing, and resolution of installation issues.
- Lead field investigations, measurements, evaluations, and inspections for public and private sector clients.
- Present technical findings and project updates to clients and stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business development initiatives.
- Develop project cost estimates, budgets, proposals, and qualification packages.
- Monitor and report project performance metrics.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies, engineering standards, and quality procedures.
Education & Experience
Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program (COMPLETED) and 7 years of civil engineering experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program (COMPLETED), successful completion of the FE Exam, and 7 years of civil engineering experience.
- Master's Degree in Civil Engineering (COMPLETED) and 6 years of civil engineering experience.
Technical Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, codes, and standards.
- Experience leading civil engineering design efforts on large projects.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate work and guide project teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience conducting quality reviews of engineering documents and specifications.
- Ability to work effectively in collaborative, multidisciplinary environments.
- Ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- EPC project experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License.
