Are you an organized project support professional who enjoys coordinating multiple activities, working with engineering teams, and ensuring projects stay on track? We're seeking a Project Assistant to support SCADA Engineering and Testing & Commissioning projects for a leading utility client in Akron, OH.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong administrative, project coordination, and Excel skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced technical environment.
We're looking for a highly organized Project Assistant who enjoys coordinating projects, supporting engineering teams, and keeping project documentation accurate and up to date. Strong Excel skills are essential, while Power BI experience is a significant advantage. Candidates with experience supporting utility, engineering, construction, or technical field projects will stand out.
What You'll Do
- Support SCADA Engineering and Testing & Commissioning project activities from planning through completion.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Verify project scope, work orders, change tickets, and RTU outage requests before SCADA testing and commissioning.
- Track project progress and communicate project updates to internal teams and clients.
- Attend weekly project meetings and provide project status updates.
- Verify SCADA configurations and EMS uploads are completed prior to scheduled field work.
- Coordinate SCADA testing assignments with EMS testing teams.
- Maintain accurate project status updates within SCADABase.
- Update project tracking fields including SCORES and Engineering Support.
- Schedule field technicians and coordinate project logistics.
- Request and coordinate site access for field personnel.
- Assist technicians with project documentation and reporting.
- Create, edit, review, and track Technician Project Reports.
- Verify project report accuracy and maintain project tracking spreadsheets.
- Perform additional project support duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma with 3 years of relevant project support experience, OR
- Associate's Degree with 2 years of relevant experience, OR
- Bachelor's Degree with some relevant project coordination experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including:
- Excel
- Word
- PowerPoint
- Access
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Power BI.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience supporting engineering, utility, construction, or technical projects.
- Experience coordinating field personnel or project documentation.
