What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Designer / Drafter position at The Planet Group?
The person will:
- Take contractor/commissioned redlines and backdraft them into AutoCAD
- Incorporate drawing corrections identified during project turnover
- Interpret field redlines and direction and create accurate drawings
- Support drawing updates across electrical, mechanical, civil and structural disciplines as needed
Electrical drawing experience
Strong experience with electrical drawing types is highly preferred, including:
- Plot plans
- Bill of materials
- Grounding plans
- Cable schedules
- Wiring diagrams
- Schematics
- Interconnection diagrams
- PLC/input-output drawings
- Building layouts
- Other electrical drawing/documentation
Must-have qualifications
The hiring manager identified these as the key requirements:
- Strong AutoCAD knowledge
- Experience taking redlines/direction and converting them into completed drawings
- Strong knowledge of electrical drawing types
5 years of relevant experience is the general target.
Oil & gas/pipeline experience is preferred but not required. Candidates from other industries can be considered if they demonstrate strong drafting fundamentals and knowledge of the required drawing types.
