🚧 Hiring: Assistant Civil Designer
📍 Location: Kansas City, MO (Onsite)
📅 Duration: 5-Month Contract
Are you an early-career Civil Designer looking to build your experience on exciting infrastructure and land development projects? We're seeking an Assistant Civil Designer to join a collaborative engineering team supporting a variety of civil design projects.
If you have experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation and enjoy working alongside engineers and project managers to deliver high-quality designs, we'd love to hear from you!
What You'll Do
- Assist with the design of civil engineering projects including:
- Site development
- Land development
- Roadway design
- Storm drainage and stormwater management
- Water and sanitary sewer utilities
- Sediment & erosion control
- Traffic control
- Airport and facility design
- Prepare and revise civil engineering drawings and design layouts.
- Perform design calculations and volume calculations for excavation and grading.
- Interpret engineering reports, maps, surveys, drawings, and topographical data.
- Apply applicable design codes and engineering specifications.
- Maintain project drawings, revisions, and documentation.
- Support project teams in meeting scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers across multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
- One of the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Drafting Technology or a related field plus 2 years of related experience, OR
- Associate degree plus 3 years of related experience, OR
- 4 years of progressive detailing and design experience
- Basic proficiency with:
- AutoCAD
- Civil 3D
- MicroStation
- Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of civil engineering design principles and drafting practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
