Job Title: Assistant Civil Designer

Location: Kansas City, Missouri (On-Site)

Job Summary: We are supporting a search for an Assistant Civil Designer to contribute to a wide range of civil design projects from concept through construction documentation. Our team is seeking someone who can help develop drawings, perform design support tasks, and collaborate across disciplines to keep work accurate, organized, and on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Support civil design work across site design, land development, roads, storm drainage, water and sanitary sewer utilities, sediment and erosion control, traffic control, airports, and facility design.
• Assist with drawing production, including design layout, calculations, mark-ups, sketch development, and refining rough concepts.
• Review reports, maps, drawings, tests, and topographical and geologic data to support project planning and design efforts.
• Organize project drawings, plot files, and revisions while helping complete and review design drawings within scope, budget, and schedule.
  
  

Required

• Bachelor Degree in drafting technology or related field and 2 years related experience, or Associate Degree and 3 years related experience, or 4 years progressive detailing and design experience.
• Basic understanding of design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Excel to develop design deliverables.
• Basic knowledge in design, calculations, and design systems, along with the theory and practices of the civil discipline.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers in a multi-discipline project team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country where this position is located without time limitations, restrictions, or sponsorship needs.
