Key Responsibilities
- Design, fabricate, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures using machining equipment.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to create intricate components.
- Select appropriate materials and cutting tools for specific manufacturing processes.
- Operate and maintain a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC equipment.
- Perform precision measurements and inspections to ensure parts meet strict tolerances.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with tooling and machinery during production runs.
- Collaborate with engineers and production staff to optimize tool performance and manufacturing efficiency.
- Maintain detailed records of tooling modifications, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or in a similar precision machining role.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Strong understanding of tool and die design principles and manufacturing processes.
- Experience operating and maintaining a variety of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM machines.
- Skill in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauge blocks.
- Knowledge of metallurgy, heat treatment, and material properties relevant to tool and die making.
- - Experience with CNC programming and operation.
- - Proficiency in SolidWorks or other CAD software for design and modification.
- - Knowledge of heat treatment processes for tool steels.
- - Experience with EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining).
