Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily shop operations, ensuring efficient workflow and timely production.
- Manage and direct a team of shop floor employees, providing guidance and support.
- Monitor production quality, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies on the shop floor.
- Maintain equipment and machinery, coordinating repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Manage inventory of materials and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Train new employees and provide ongoing development for existing staff.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as planning and engineering, to resolve production issues.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and safety regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to troubleshoot production issues.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of production employees.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and production schedules.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with management and other departments.
