Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and configure production machinery and equipment for new manufacturing orders.
- Install, align, and adjust tooling, dies, and fixtures according to specifications.
- Perform test runs and initial quality checks to ensure proper machine operation and product conformity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve setup-related issues, making necessary adjustments to maintain production efficiency.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment during changeovers.
- Document setup parameters, machine settings, and changeover procedures accurately.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies during machine setup and operation.
- Proven experience as a Setup Technician or in a similar machine setup role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to set up, adjust, and troubleshoot production machinery and equipment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose mechanical issues and perform effective repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Adherence to safety protocols and quality standards, including a basic understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Familiarity with G-code programming or editing.
- Certification in Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Advanced GD&T interpretation and application.
- Prior experience in tool and die making or repair.
