Key Responsibilities
- Set up and adjust manufacturing presses, including dies, fixtures, and material feeds, according to production specifications.
- Operate press machinery to produce parts, monitoring machine performance and product quality throughout the run.
- Perform routine quality checks on finished products using precision measuring tools to ensure adherence to blueprints and tolerances.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and troubleshoot minor mechanical or operational issues on press equipment.
- Load and unload raw materials, components, and finished goods from press machines.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules to determine job requirements.
- Proven experience operating and setting up various types of presses (e.g., hydraulic, mechanical, stamping).
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and work orders to determine setup specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to use precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) for quality control.
- Strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment and performing minor adjustments.
- Commitment to following safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
- Forklift certification
- Experience with preventative maintenance or minor machine repair
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for production tracking
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles
