Key Responsibilities
- Perform calibration and verification of measurement equipment and tools.
- Conduct precise dimensional inspections of manufactured parts and products.
- Operate and program advanced metrology equipment, such as CMMs and optical comparators.
- Analyze measurement data and generate comprehensive inspection reports.
- Maintain metrology lab equipment, ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness.
- Troubleshoot measurement discrepancies and assist in root cause analysis.
- Ensure all measurement activities comply with industry standards and quality procedures.
- Proficiency in operating and programming various metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Strong understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Experience with calibration processes and maintaining measurement traceability.
- Knowledge of measurement uncertainty principles and practices.
- Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Metrology, Quality Assurance, Mechanical Engineering Technology) or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in CMM programming languages (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS)
- Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) for process control
- Ability to design or assist in the fabrication of custom inspection fixtures
- Familiarity with ISO 17025 accreditation standards for calibration laboratories
- Basic troubleshooting and maintenance of metrology equipment
