Key Responsibilities
- Perform calibration and maintenance of precision measuring equipment.
- Conduct dimensional inspections of manufactured parts using various metrology tools.
- Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) for part inspection.
- Analyze measurement data and generate detailed inspection reports.
- Ensure all measurement activities comply with quality standards and specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to measurement equipment and processes.
- Maintain accurate calibration records and equipment documentation.
- Proficiency in using a wide range of precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs).
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience with CMM programming and operation, or other advanced metrology equipment and software.
- High school diploma or GED with 2 years of experience in a manufacturing quality or metrology environment, or an Associate's degree in a technical field.
- Understanding of calibration processes, measurement uncertainty, and quality control principles.
- CMM programming proficiency (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS)
- ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification
- Experience with advanced 3D scanning or optical metrology systems
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) software and data analysis tools
