Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Conduct regular EHS inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive EHS training programs for all employees on topics such as hazard communication, lockout/tagout, emergency response, and PPE.
- Manage hazardous waste programs, ensuring proper storage, labeling, disposal, and record-keeping in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to integrate EHS best practices into daily operations, new equipment installations, and process changes.
- Monitor EHS performance metrics, track trends, and prepare reports for management review and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related scientific field.
- 3-5 years of progressive EHS experience, with a significant portion in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state-specific EHS regulations pertinent to manufacturing operations.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs (e.g., LOTO, confined space, chemical safety).
- Proficiency in conducting EHS risk assessments, incident investigations, and delivering effective safety training.
- Strong understanding of EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Experience with specific EHS management software (e.g., Gensuite, Intelex, Cority).
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Professional certification such as CIH, CSP, or CHMM.
- Experience with industrial hygiene monitoring and assessments (e.g., noise, air quality, ergonomics).
- Multilingual proficiency, particularly Spanish, to support a diverse workforce.
