Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
- Ensure full compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, facility inspections, and EHS audits to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and deliver engaging EHS training programs for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Manage hazardous waste disposal, air emissions, and wastewater discharge permits and compliance.
- Oversee emergency preparedness and response plans, including drills and crisis management.
- Monitor EHS performance metrics, prepare reports, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA) and industry best practices.
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs and management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Professional EHS certification such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager).
- Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Experience leading sustainability or energy efficiency programs.
- Proficiency with EHS management software implementation or optimization.
- Multilingual capabilities, particularly Spanish or other languages common in the local workforce.
